What's new in the Active Query Builder VCL Edition version 1.30?
The Standard version:
Masterly work with parameters
Work with complex SQL scripts using the new TacSQLScript component: look through, add, remove and edit separate statements. Learn more.
Skip SET, DECLARE and other statements preceding the first SELECT statement by attaching the new TacSQLScriptBuilderPlainText component to the TacQueryBuilder component.
Apply values to parameters and cut off unneeded parameters from queries, get ready-to-use TDataset objects with the help of the new TacQueryParametersTransformer component.
Now you can build a query with plenty of parameters for all occasions and let the user choose what he/she needs at the moment. Learn more.
The Professional version:
Turning parameters into macros
You can replace parameters in the query text with scalars, lists, complex SQL expressions, and sub-queries.
A frequent scenario is to substitute a single parameter for a list of values in a condition with the IN operator. Learn more.
Active Query Builder ensures the validity of the resultant query text by checking macro values before the replacement to protect from SQL injection.
SQL Text Editor has got better
The suggestion list now works smoothly and predictably and provides a better match with the intelligent suggestion filtration.
More intuitive auto-indentation and auto-addition of paired characters (quotes, parentheses).
Highlighting of the current SQL statement and API to get and set the current SQL statement.
New properties to tune colors and change the suggestion behavior.
We have been using Active Query Builder for over a year and must say that both the product and support have been outstanding!
We chose Active Query Builder due to its flexibility and features, but have been truly pleased by its power and hidden capabilities. ...
In summary Active Query Builder provides excellent components, great support and a very flexible feature set. It has allowed us to provide features to our end users that I did not think would be possible in the first release of our new tools and in a timeframe that was much shorter than planned. I would recommend that anyone dealing with databases in the .Net world should be aware of this component and its capabilities!
