What's new in version 3.9?
Now it’s possible to select multiple datasources in the Design Pane in different ways:
select all datasources in a rectangular area with the mouse,
select individual datasources while holding the Ctrl key,
select all the intermediate datasources between the given two ones (by joins) holding the Shift key.
The new “Wrap into derived table” action is added to the datasource context menu to pack one or several datasources in a new derived table preserving the joins and conditions in the current subquery for its consistency.
General improvements
Support for Visual Studio 2022 is added.
Portuguese (Brazilian) localization is updated.
CTE definition is now moved if needed on adding a reference to another CTE.
Column aliases that are valid identifiers aren’t quoted now.
WinForms and WPF improvements
WinForms: Per-monitor HiDPI scaling is improved.
SQL Text Editor: Auto-completion finds items by first CamelCase letters. The suggestion pop-up positions better and introduces a different behavior on selecting an item with Tab, Enter, or Space.
Metadata Editor: Metadata loading wizard has been improved for better synchronization between the XML and live database schema. More connection types are available out-of-the-box.
ASP.NET:
In .NET Core it is possible to initialize the server-side instance automatically using the new factory handler. For this, the startApplication method should be replaced with the new AQB.Web.UI.autoInit method.
jQuery is updated to the latest v.3.6.0.
SQL Syntax:
MS SQL Server: Support for TRY_CAST and TRY_CONVERT built-in functions, and “AT TIME ZONE”, “FOR JSON” clauses has been added.
MySQL: Support for JSON extraction operators is added.
SQLite: Date, Time, and DateTime conversion built-in functions are added.
Oracle: Precision for the NUMBER type is displayed now.
SAP Hana: Support for analytic expressions is made.
Informix: Support for databases, double-quoted strings, curly-braced comments are added; the keywords list is updated.
Firebird: CTE in subqueries are supported now.
Catch-ups updates from the previous desktop version:
The context menus for datasource columns on the Design Pane are remade to perform most of the operations without touching the Query Columns Grid.
When several foreign keys exist between a pair of database objects, the user can switch the foreign key of the link between such objects using the special button.
Users now can create links from UI by separately choosing fields to start and finish a new link via the field context menu.

In summary Active Query Builder provides excellent components, great support and a very flexible feature set. It has allowed us to provide features to our end users that I did not think would be possible in the first release of our new tools and in a timeframe that was much shorter than planned. I would recommend that anyone dealing with databases in the .Net world should be aware of this component and its capabilities!
